Our stack dampener is a device that is used to slow down the velocity of flue gasses through the heater. It is installed at the base of the stack.
Equalized Stack Head
The equalized stack head or "ESH" is placed at the top of the stack for protection purposes. It can withstand up to 60 mph winds, keep out birds and shield rain.
Stack Arrestor Draft Diverter
The stack arrestor draft diverter or "SADD" does everything the equalized stack head does and a little more. The SADD can withstand up to 100 mph winds, prevent cinders from leaving the stack and prevent unwanted gasses from entering. SADD's are primarily used on offshore equipment.
The spark arrestors achieve coast guard requirements for off-shore usage. They do not offer the same protection against wind and birds that our draft diverters offer.
The draft diverter is a wind deterrent and a rain cap only. It can withstand up to 60 mph winds.
